Further #Occupy Tactics

If you agree with the basic principles of #OWS here are two other ways in which you can participate in dismantling the corporate structure of our society:

• Move your money in to a Credit Union

Banks and the fraudulent CEOS who own the banks rely on your business to stay in power. If you withdraw your financial support from these institutions and invest in credit unions you can re-establish your power on a global scale.

A credit union is a collection of individuals who pool their paychecks together. As individuals banding together within their community they are then able to choose who gets a loan. That means that they are able to support businesses who contribute to their local community. Likewise, I imagine very few credit unions are foreclosing on people’s homes.

• Use the pre-paid envelopes that credit card companies send potential applicants to mail them the most expensive package imaginable.

Credit, and the high interest payments which go along with it, enslave working class peoples. With the United States Postal Service facing severe cuts we must do everything we can to support our essential government services.

Personally, I prefer to send them dead batteries, as these are the heaviest, most useless things I can find (while I am unsure about the eventual destination of this garbage, I admit there could be something even better to send…). Please remember that the people opening these packages are workers like us, so send them a nice message while taking a dent out of unfair businesses’ wallet.

End Corporate Greed and the Need for #Occupy

The #Occupy manifesto, “End Corporate Greed,” is constantly questioned by onlookers and the media. What does it mean to end corporate greed?*

You don’t need a deep understanding of the complexity of governmental law and the incomprehensible language in which it was written to see that corporations are not contributing to our well-being. As the major producers of commerce in America, we should expect these large groups of citizens to contribute to the economic infrastructure of our society. If you compare the simple numbers regarding the tax contributions from working class citizens to that of the ultra-rich, a vastly unjust difference is easily understood.

Why does the government rely on money taxed from hard working citizens rather than the companies they work for?

Irregardless of your political stance, we can all agree that, in America, people who work hard deserve to be rewarded. If you work at the minimum wage of $8/hour, 40 hours a week, 52 weeks a year, your annual income will be $16,640 and for someone trying to support a family of four, the measure of poverty (that is, to be considered “poor”) is $22,350. 

For “working class” peoples there is little to no hope of career advancement and even those who have shelled out for an education will be woefully underpaid. In California, Governor Jerry Brown has threatened public schools with shortened school years and, no matter who tells you otherwise, education is required for people to thrive. If cuts to vital public programs continue how can our country expect to contribute to our continued survival on planet earth?

Why is the welfare of the average American less meaningful to our elected representatives than the pursuit of the American dollar?

*Forgive me the use of framing this in terms of “America”. I’m hardly one to advocate that undocumented peoples are somehow less deserving of all the rights which are given to American citizens. Likewise, all countries and people around the world deserve the same rights and opportunities.

The Goldman School at PUBLIC POLICY, Univ.Calif.Berkeley studies views on attitudes towards homelessness by examining Facebook and Youtube OCCUPY postings.

Renowned Professor Robert Reich, and others, have long been concerned with the conditions faced by unemployed and homeless Americans. Professor Lakoff (Cognitive Science 201) and his grad students use Cognitive Linguistics & Lexigraphic Analysis to scientifically study “conceptual systems” of people discussing homelessness on line: Youtube, Facebook etc.

Also at Stanford, SF State, SJ State, UCSF, UCSC and CSUMB professors and students have been reviewing several OCCUPY postings on Facebook and You Tube etc. In these classes on neuro science,and empirical cognitive linguistics, the use of “action concept verbs in metaphorical concepts” is measured. Concepts on homelessness are examined.

Thus there has been academic interest in responses to biases against the homeless, including some who suffer from disease like alcoholism, drug use, and cognitive disorders.
    One OCCUPY MONTEREY example, currently being studied at these universities, are allegedly from a bald man posting them through kaffeeklatsch (German for social interaction during “coffee chat”).
This individual posted footage of him confronting a few men at Veteran’s Park, and, unattributed, video by activist Cowboy Chris who uses medical marijuana to treat lack of appetite resulting from spleen surgery.

   At the end of one video this un-named man thanks his “LIBERTY friends”. Could this be a reference to active/reserve/retired naval men and women who “meet socially over coffee” {kafeeklatsch} inside the  NSA NPGS Liberty room? {google Monterey NSA LIBERTY}

   In his postings he refers to those demonstrating their freedom of speech at Colton Hall as “morons.” His use of casual action verbs indicates biased concepts against Occupy and the portion of them that are unemployed and homeless. His facial language is carefully synched to tones in crucial vowel sounds, all while lexigraphically expressing “disclosures” that denegrade Occupiers at Veteran’s Park, in a studied attempt to dismiss the entire movement locally.

The bald man’s odd use of syntax rules and unusual grammatical structures, reveals “causual action verbs” meant to instill fear/anger. He boldly says of the campers in the park “No one knows who they are.” Then follows it with a softer “qualifier.” This is a pattern of accusations amended with softer qualifiers. His subtle saccadic eye patterns reflect his intentions in the use of the words he’s using.

The man includes a reference to the City Manager, who he softly infers earns a salary “more than the governor.” Knowing city employees are studying these videos, he uses casual verbs that link City Officials to “allowing” the Park encampment for the homeless, which he presents as a clear danger to residents.

He mentions that nearby down the hill from the park is Monterey High, and “a stone’s throw away” is Colton (an elementry/middle school). Close to those sentences he mentions “men in masks” at the camp, and the possibility of people there breaking into nearby homes and causing fires that would burn them down. He emphasizes that the camp may contain “sex offenders” and other “criminals.” These brief paragraphs position words in order to incite fear/anger towards the Occupy campers.
   When one Occupier tries to be friendly and shake his hand, he refuses, saying he doesn’t “shake hands with immoral people…like pedophiles” etc.

In this same nine minute Youtube film the man says the campers are getting a “free ride” at taxpayers’ expense. He says the taxpayers are “subsidizing” the dangerous homeless and demonstrators. Anticipating city officials viewing his film, he is critical of Public Policy towards Public Land {see postings on National Public Lands Day October 22 to review legal opinions supporting policies used by Monterey and other cities}

   Unlike city officials in their public statements, this man mentions nothing compassionate about the plight of the homeless (including those suffering from alcoholism, drug abuse, and emotional disorders). He offers no suggestions on how the city can better address what it admits is a “challenge” that they help fund with tax revenues.

    Assistant City Administrator Mr Cohn cited “pressures” and “complaints” from some residents, and this man presents himself as a resident in an unverifiable way. Both #OCCUPY and CITY officials are well aware that facebook/youtube postings are studied locally in classes at MPC, MIIS & CUSMB; as well as in classes at UCB, UCSF and Stanford. All grad students in these classes use Cognitive Linguistics to the syntax used in the Conceptual Shapes of video like the example cited here.

          This un-named man has provided useful materials to document bias and predjudice against the homeless. His use of video of Cowboy Chris, who he repeatedly demonizes and “criminal”izes , is an example of on line bullying of the homeless with serious medical problems ( linguistic “blame/attribution”) ; someone he says the City and taxpayers are “subsidizing” and “allowing” to be a threat to the community.

their friend Romney, far exceed any help to our local charities that 
help struggling low income families.

etc. is NOT one of the pro-occupation “Patriotic Millionaires” asking

Institute at BYU in Salt lake) . He is on Forbes List of the World’s

   Peery, Marriot, and Romney and other MORMON CEOS (search to see the list) are “High Priests In The Order Of Melchizadok” within the Latter 
Day Saint Church. Most fellow Christians know that these “MORMONS” 
revere what their Lord Jesus Christ reveals in the Four Gospels.       Mormon High Priests have all read the BOOK OF JOHN. In it Jesus visits the TEMPLE IN JERUSALEM three times. It was ruled by the Melchi. Zadok Priests and their “money exchangers” who collected tithe money and sold birds and animals to be cruelly slaughtered there. 

       Peery, Marriot and Romney know that Jesus first came to the 
TEMPLE at age 12 to discuss their role in religion. These three also 
know that on the second visit Jesus conducted an ACT OF ANIMAL RIGHTS LIBERATION, stopping the Priests from earning huge sums by selling doves, lambs and calves etc. so that their throats would be slashed. The Priests taught that “Jehovah enjoyed the fragrant smell of 
sacrificed blood” and that this Jehovah demanded the low income 99% 
pay TITHES ( Religious Taxes) to the High Priests to invest.

 
        Peery, Marriot and Romney all know that Jesus then drove these 
High Priests and their “money exchangers” (trading Roman currency to 
Jewish coins that they minted, at an exchange rate favorable to them) 
out of the Temple. In the Bible it NEVER indicates that Jesus was 
upset or angry, or HIT anyone with the whip he waved symbolically 
(like a Good Shepherd scaring off wolves from the flock) 

         Peery, Marriot and Romney all know that when Jesus left, the Priests wanted him arrested. So not long after that JESUS boldly  returned to the TEMPLE for the third and final time to confront them again. This time he told them that they wanted to MURDER him. He then said that the god they worshiped was really The “DECEIVER” (in Hebrew “Satan’), and for this “blasphemy they took up rocks they brought to STONE HIM TO DEATH. 

         Everyone knows what happened next. Jesus escaped, was hunted down by the Priests, forced into an unjust trial, then NAILED TO THE CROSS for what he had done. Before that trial Jesus spoke his ONLY “commandment” To Love God with all your heart…to love one another.” Jesus clearly said “Those who believeth in me, do as I have done.” He never paid taxes or tithes to the 1%, he never touched money or took money to hear his teachings, or heal the sick (google wikipedia 
“Christian Anarchy’) Jesus was Vegan and murdered by the melchiZADOK (Sons Of Zadok) Priests at age 33. He never instructed believers to become High Priests and sell his words and teachings for money.
